Cause 3 This issue can also occur if the Receive Side Scaling (RSS) setting, on the end-hosts or servers, is disabled. Possible Fix 3 The RSS setting facilitates faster transmission of data across multiple CPUs. Enable the RSS setting on the end-host or server. Why are Multicast Packets Dropped? Cause 1 It is possible that you see the excessive flushes and input packet drops on the interface(s) when Multicast traffic flows. You can check the flushes with the show interface command.
