Background Information Each Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and H.323 standard cause code accurately reflect the nature of the associated internal failure. This capability makes the H.323 and SIP call-control protocols consistent with cause codes that are generated for common problems. For each of the failures listed, the standard category is associated with a standard category description, the Q.850 cause code value, and a description of this value.
