Cisco Expressway Cisco Expressway provides secure firewall and NAT traversal for mobile or remote Cisco Jabber and TelePresence video endpoints (Figure 11), and it provides secure business-to-business communications (Figure 12). Cisco Expressway consists of two applications: Expressway-C and Expressway-E. Deploy Cisco Expressway-C inside the network and deploy Expressway-E in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) by connecting separate network ports on Expressway-E to the organization's network and to the DMZ. Cisco fully supports a virtualized Expressway-E in the DMZ; however, a dedicated server can be deployed based on the company's security requirements. Figure 11.
