Legacy Call Routing Techniques The items covered in this section are considered legacy techniques. While the ability to configure these are still present within a Cisco Gateway it is not recommended to make use of these commands in modern configurations. This document only covers them because they could be encountered while working with legacy configurations or when performing upgrades. DNIS-Map DNIS-maps could be considered the precursor for what would now be an E164-pattern-map. DNIS maps were added to Cisco IOS in 12.2(2)XB and have always existed in Cisco IOS XE.
